About Hannah
I'm Hannah Dickinson, I study Commercial Management & Quantity Surveying at Loughborough and I'm in my second year. I first got introduced to StudyStash at the start of this year, so September 2025. I didn't really know what it was, but I thought it would be useful to take notes, but I quickly realised that you can convert your notes into flashcards which is really helpful for me because it takes out that middle step, so you can start learning with them straight away. It's definitely changed my studies this year; my friends keep asking, "Oh, what are you using?" and I say, "I'm using StudyStash".

Before and After StudyStash
Before
I do like using mind maps for my studies. At the end of last year when we had exam season, me and my friend would be shut in a room with a whiteboard and we'd have a question which we'd write on the whiteboard, we'd write everything we remembered from it and then go back to the question and look it up to see what we got right. I'd also write my notes on Word and then convert them into flashcards using other apps.
After
StudyStash allows me to convert my notes into flashcards, which is a lot easier than just writing them. With the AI, it does it for me; I upload a PowerPoint and it just converts it into notes and flashcards which is helpful. It is so easy to use. I thought it'd be complicated and I can't really deal with complicated and studying at the same time. And I can get it on my laptop, I can get it on my iPad and on my phone anytime I want, that's helpful as well, on-the-go learning.
The impact so far
StudyStash has made studying more convenient and quicker. Although it's all good handwriting notes, when I was doing it for my GCSEs and A levels it was so time-consuming and you just had to do that. There wasn't anything else. Now I can be more efficient and actually utilise my study material rather than just writing down notes for ages. I'm going to test myself a bit more with the test feature.

Advocate or avoid?
I hope more students get to use it, because it's so helpful. Although the platform highlights that it's AI, it's based on your own notes and lecturer content; if you write your notes right, then you're going to get your answer right. The amount you put into the platform, it gives you back.
I've already recommended it to my friends because it's just so helpful for me to see my notes easily displayed. It's been really helpful so far making flashcards, and I'll be using the tests in May when I get to my exams.
